We’re proud to announce the arrival of the EM-3000 Spectral Microscopy. This state-of-the-art technology can help managing and preventing various corneal pathologies.

Many corneal endothelial abnormalities are difficult if not impossible to visualize with a normal eye exam. The EM-3000 Specular Microscope is indicated in the screening which includes the following, but not limited to:

  • Contact lens wear
  • Long term contact lens wear
  • Cataract surgery
  • Refractive surgery
  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetes for more than 10 years
  • Prescription eye drops
  • Dry eye

This instrument enables both doctors and patients to understand how well their corneas are doing over time. Early detection of corneal stress can minimize damage, as acute changes in cell morphology are mostly reversible. Awareness of corneal abnormalities can result in care and treatment being initiated earlier to minimize long-term effects.
